Thuja occidentalis 'Norm Evers' Dwarf Eastern Arborvitae a nice teardrop shape, and strong winter weather tolerance make this cultivar a great conifer selection. The open, lacy foliage turns a dull rust color in winter and pushes a bright green in spring. This seedling selection, named for Norm Evers, retired director of McCrory Botanic Garden and instructor at South Dakota State University, has stood the test of time against cold, snow and ice in that cold, northern region.
