Abies koreana (Korean Firs)

Korean Fir 구상나무, Gusang namu in Korean, a coniferous evergreen fir native to the high mountains of South Korea. The bark is smooth with resin blisters and grey-brown in color. Korean Fir is a very popular ornamental with many named cultivars in the horticultural industry. In cool climates, grown for its foliage but also for the abundant cone production even on young trees. The variety 'Silberlocke' has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
